Today it is home to the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort. The House dates from the 17th century and is set in a beautiful deer park. Interestingly enough, the game of badminton was also invented here at the beginning of the 20th century, as a pastime for guests, when the weather was inclement.
Of course, the event is rightly focused on the horses and riders overcoming seemingly insurmountable fences and obstacles, but for visitors there is so much more on offer.

The Badminton Horse Trials 2025 will be held from Wednesday 7th May to Sunday 11th May 2025, featuring the dressage phase, the cross-country action and finishing with the show jumping finale.
