Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest' 2014

Friday 20th June – Sunday 22nd June

Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest’

Somerset is obviously close to our hearts and not far from us in Nether Stowey, the Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest’ every June is something you shouldn’t miss if you love food and drink with total Somerset provenance.

Once again taking place the weekend before Glastonbury, last year’s Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest’ was lauded as the ‘not be missed pre-Glastonbury Somerset spree’ by Chris Evans and Radio 2, attracting cheese & cider connoisseurs from across the land, all in search of Somerset’s finest nibbles and tipples.

So if you already have Glastonbury Festival tickets then why not pitch up (we can help you here!) to the Fest’ to ease yourself into a week of amazing Somerset based entertainment, all the while enjoying the comforts of home in our Winnebagos and American motorhomes?!

A Cheese, Cider & Winnebago Weekend Jaunt

If you’re looking to hire a winnebago for the Fest’ then the the very limited Big Weekender Tickets – just 50 available – are the ones for you, giving you access to events throughout the whole weekend. Alternatively, the Saturday Fest tickets are very good value at £20 pp this year – buy them here. So, here’s what you’ll enjoy…

FRIDAY 20th June
Cheese & Cider Steam Express

Big Weekenders will head from Festival HQ to Bishops Lydeard station aboard a Tractor Safari motored by a loverly Massey Fergusson!z - 7828 'Norton Manor' (c) Sam Burton - only available in low res

Your ‘Cheese & Cider Express’ carriage then awaits, aboard the West Somerset Steam Railway. Cue a hearty ploughmans lunch and ample cider to wash it down (4 pints p/p free) while meandering through Somerset’s stunning landscapes from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and all the way back again. Tell us this doesn’t sound AMAZING?!?!

Save some room though as they’ll ferry you back to Festival HQ for a ‘BBQ & Campfire Feast‘. You’ll get a masterclass in how to prepare & smoke cheese and butter before you purchase a vertiable feast of steaks, sausages and vegetarian food before grilling, cooking and flaming your way to a fantastic Somerset meal on their Fest’ BBQs.

SATURDAY 21st June
Main Fest’ here we come

Saturday Morning (reserved for BIG WEEKENDER Ticket holders only)

Grab a hearty breakfast at the Cricketer Farm Shop & Cafe (not included in ticket price) before hopping on the Fest’ Tractor Safari for a bumble through the hills and fields surrounding Cricketer Farm, the home of Cheddar. Let the fun and games begin with huge amounts of live music, cider, cheese and games ‘till late. Some of Somerset’s best cider and cheese makers have already signed up, including Sheppy’s Cider and Orchard Pig, plus the Somerset Cheese Company, to name but a few.

MOOZIC! They’ve already lined up some great bands to help you rock away your afternoon from 1.30pm onwards while you enjoy a tipple of the good stuff. If you fancy a nibble too, they’ll have hog roasts, cheesy balls, ScrumPies and Cheesy Big Fellas to choose from while the fun continues alongside the music, Cider and Cheese shenanigans with this -

> NEW! Cheeky Cow Children’s Corner – entertaining the little ones thanks to art & crafts, making their own butter and meeting Cricketer Farm’s dairy farmers. They’ve got it all going on for the small folk!

> NEW! Somerset Amateur Cider Open – If you make the stuff then they’ll try the stuff before naming the Champ Amateur Cider Maker!

> NEW! Cheese & Cider games like no other – fancy a shot at cider pong? How’s about some Cheese Shy action? Or p’raps sedate bash at Welly Wanging?

They’ve already signed up loads of producers & craft makers from across the County so you’ll be able to pick up a few mementos AND meet the people that made them. It’ll be a proper job showcase of Somerset food, drink and crafts!

Add a touch of live music, a great atmosphere plus, of course, more cheese and Cider and you’ll while away a Sunday in the Quantock Hills that you will never forget!
